My valentini puffer seems to have hair algae on his lip...it looks like a mustache. Could he have just been eating some and got it stuck there...its been there a couple of days...
It it caught on his tooth? I have an orchid dottyback that swallowed a hair one time. It was looped coming out of his mouth, I can not believe he survived.
I have the valentini puffer and a green spotted puffer both in that tank...they don't touch the corals... at least I've never seen them do it.
The green spotted loves to eat cerith snails...although I haven't been able to find any for him lately...and the valentini loves macro algae and mysis.
I recently found hair algae growing on a rock that was turned over at the bottom of the tank so I moved the rock so that my fox face could eat the algae off of it..guessing the puffer ate some... maybe it is stuck on his top teeth...
It sure looks funny...although it doesn't seem to be bothering him...my neighbors kids got a kick out of it...

Yeah...he is still swimming around fine with his new mustache... I'm surprised the fox face hasn't tried to get it off of him...
He doesn't seem to mind it being there at all. He was eating macroalgae out of my hand last nite..but he won't stay still long enough for me to try and pull it off...plus he finally just started eating out of my hand...so I didn't want to freak him out by trying to grab at him...
