we got some hairy mushrooms from the lfs, but they were a little beat up. some of the smaller ones are completly white, and some look like they have been cut into 2 pieces, but not completly, not like splitting. will they come back and get all their color back. is there anything i can do. Thanks!

You can provide the mushroom with good water quality, appropriate lighting and the like...

Mushroom tend to be fairly hardy in my experience.

Was the colony traumatized at the outset or did its health decline while in your tank? If the coral has declined while in your tank, start by auditing your tank: water parameters and the like and post the info.

i got them right after the store put them into the tank. so it was over the shipping process, it does look like they are starting to get better in the tank. the water prams are all in check. the temp may be a little low between 74-78. Thanks!!

yeah, 74 is on the low end of where it should be a 76-80 range would be better for your inhabitants

Give them time, One good thing about mushrooms and a reason to look on the bright side.... you only really need 1 mushroom to survive. If one survives you should have several within a year. Of course you would like them all to survive but if you get 1 out of the deal you haven't lost.
