Halide for the "Shimmer effect"?

If i wanted to keep a FOWLR but wanted the "shimmer effect" of a hailde. Would this be the cheapest way to go?

i didnt see any halides on the link you posted, but ive heard a lot of the home depot/ lowes halides are meant for outdoors so they have an annoying hum to them. may not be something you want in your house when your looking at your tank.
