I have an AGA mission series canopy which is not tall at all. The halides are about 2" from the canopy top which make it very hot in little time. With that, it leaves about 4" off the surface of the water. Will this give gallons of evaporation a day by this?
I was thinking of putting some heat retardant sheets on the top where it gets hot, would that work OK?
I want to keep a lot of SPS and clams, some I already have that will be transfering to the new tank later on. Are 3x250w DE 14k halides going to be alright there with a heat retardant sheet on the canopy top and around 4" from the water line?
If I would hang them from the ceiling I would need to take apart the canopy top which is taking apart 4 hinges which is nothing but then it is also glued all the way around on the sides which might be difficult.
Thanks.
