i was wondering do cleaner shrimps eat them... cos my cleaner shrimps are climbing all over it and sticking their legs in them... but i dun see any eating.... wat conditions are favourable for this algae??

Mine doesn't, they just searches for small pods and other food between the leaves.
Halimeda actually require more or less the same conditiones as stony corals, meaning high Ca and KH. My experience is that it is a very hardy algae and though nice looking, it will consume quite a bit of Ca and KH so if you also have corals you have to prune it.

Here is some good info on Halimeda:

I haven't seen anything eat Halimeda. Some slugs are supposed to steal their chloroplasts but I have no experience with these.

i've just taken a look at my halimeda... and on a close look, i see this rock anemone looking thing on 1 of its leaves... is that harmful??

Not very easy to tell without a photo, but I would assume that it is either a hydroid, a majano anemone or an Aiptasia anemone, none of which are things you want in the tank. Remove the actual parts of Halimeda that this invertebrate is attached too and take it out of the system.

Very few animals really eat Halimeda, parrotfish come to mind, but they are not easily kept in home aquaria.
