Hammer colour question

I bought a branching hammer a few months ago, got it for a good price because the LFS manager said it wasn't the colour he ordered and it was too plain. He ordered green tipped hammers, this one looked pinkish. I happen to LOVE pink corals, and was happy to take it home. I put it into my 65g under 300W PC, where it looked a little green-tinged under actinics, but otherwise the same as it did in the store (under old MH bulbs). I decided to go back to FOWLR with the 65g, so I moved the hammer into my 30g. Now I see the difference - I have a pink wall hammer, this one's tips look almost greenish-white in comparison. Any chance this coral will 'green up' under 160W PC lighting, or am I likely looking at its natural colour?

I would think that only time will tell, some corals seem to loose their bright colors when under insufficient lighting. Unfortunately theres so many color variations in hammers that its hard to say if its naturally pink or if under ther right conditions there will be some green. NIce fox coral by the way.

Color and intensity of light affect the direct color of the animal, so over time changing from light to light can cause it's "base" color to change. So, if you were to put it back later, it might in fact look different and never end up being the same.

I bought 4 different frogspawn's from 4 different people, 1 was metallic green, the rest were 'normal' green. Well, 4 months later they all look exactly the same.

Some times it's the lights, some times the food, some times the animal itself......

I'm interested to see how it changes in this tank, it looks like it's slightly greener already.
Thanks for the compliment on the fox, it's one of my favourites :D
