Hammer Coral Help?

Ok I don’t know if I am over paranoid or if I am having issues with my Hammer coral. I have had the Hammer now for 5+ mos. Last night when I was feeding my fish I noticed one side it was started to show skeleton. Just about a quarter of one side, so I did a water parameter check. Temp 77.9, Amm – 0, Nit- 0 Nat- 0, PH 8.2, Cal 420, Alk 11.2, Mag 1400, and Phos 0.0.

40 B/ 20L sump, GFO & Carbon Reactors, Coral Life needle skimmer, coral life t5HO 2 ATI blue + and 2 ATI coral +. I ended up moving it up forward a bit in the tank where it would have little more flow. I have it still positioned on my sand bed. That’s 20 inchs from the lighting fixture.

I ended up doing a 10g W/C last night, gotta stay with my schedule w/c's. Any Ideas on what might be causing this stress? Should I move him up vertically in the tank an inch or two? I will be adding before and after pictures.

Edit: Forgot I have two hydor 850's and one 650 on a wave maker set at 15 mins intervals.

It feels like your ALK is a bit high. Mine tend to like the ALK around 9 to 10. I would do a few more water changes to see if that helps. Also, they like more light. Try bringing it up a bit. I know mine like that better than the SB.

Have you ever tried feeding the polyp? Once my clownfish made the connection between food and my Duncan coral is was all over. The interaction wasn't constant, but over time it definitely took a toll on the polyp.

Yes, I feed my corals twice a week. I give them brine shrimp and coral frenzy food.

I'd look to lower ALK, maybe more light, and less flow...

I will do a parameter check tonight to see after my W/C last night brought the Alk down. I will move her up a bit in the tank.

i would check lighting and flow these guys can handle high alk

I never feed my euphyllias. They seem happiest at 8-9 dkh. I use 2 blue+, 1 coral+, and 1 purple+.

The devils in the details.. or in this case in the pic above lol. My maroon clown has destroyed many euphyllia heads over the years. I sometimes buy common ones to keep her busy with those so my better ones can have time to heal/grow.
