hammer growth

It depends on too many variables to say exactly. As long as its growing and healthy, then that's what is important.I've kept all the common Euphyllia spp. and they all had different growth rates. The fastest was my Hammer. It went from 4 heads to 40+ in just over a year.

i have two branching hammers that started out as 8, one has 15 the other has 14. I have only had them about 6 months. I also have a wall hammer and its frown since i got it 2 years ago, but it doesnt seem as fast as the branching ones.

Wow, that's some good growth! Thanks for the pics.

Did any of the buds form new stalks, or were they all from individuals splitting as it grew? For some reason most of the buds on mine die off, although there seem to be 1 or 2 that have gotten bigger and may form larger colonies.

All of the branches/growth was from the coral. The buds have grown out,and its probably time i clip them and glue them to some LR rubble to grow out.IME,Euphyllia buds grow extrememly slow, probably because they're shaded.Once you see enough skeleton branching off,you can clip them. With this corals rapid growth rate,I've been a bit lazy with the buds.I could of clipped at least 8 off by now.If left on the colony, many do have a tendency to die.
