I have a hammer that was doing great, last week it starting to melt, we test the water every other day and it is perfect.

Ph- 8.3
Ammonia- 0
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0
calcium - 420
Alkality - 12
sp -1.023
temp 79.6

this was the first coral we put in the tank and would hate to lose it, the tank has been set up for about 7 months, and everything else is doing great. Also it is the same low flow spot that it has always been in.

Any idea's

Thanks for the input

I was thinking that maybe your temp was too high (I lots a nice purple tip Euphilia that way when trying to force a RBTA to split) but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Gl hopefully someone will have some ideas.

Have you added any new livestock recently? Allelopathic interactions with leathers and other animals can be a problem.

Do you run carbon? new carbon could have cleared the water up too much/too fast causing too much light.

When did you do you last water change/how much?

Could it be starving? how much and what do you feed the tank?

Any other changes? new bulbs?

Simon
