hammerhead and closed loop

Is a 1/3 HP hammerhead too much power for a closed loop system? I would think the length to head would be no more than 6'. That would make it flowing about 5k GPH. I would want this to go through a SQWD device (like Eric D had) with 4 outlets.

I have a hammerhead to a 4 way then it splits to 6 outlets all 1" plumbing, it blows the sand and corals really hard if I am not careful how i aim the nozzles. I'd think for a 125 thats way too much, you could close the outlet size down with a ball valve I guess, but if it were me I'd use a 1/4 h.p. pump and you will still not run it full on with only 4 outlets I am guessing. I know 1K per nozzle doesnt sound high but if you could somehow make the pattern more like a tunze stream then you'de be o.k. its just such a sharp type flow that I think you wouldnt like it you know? I have a hammer laying around your welcome to hook it up and try it before you buy one if you'd like, I would need it back though, its a spare for mine incase I have a problem.

I figured it would be too much. Officespace is selling his Hammerhead for a great deal and since I want to put a closed loop on, I thought I'd post the ? to those who know. OS has it pumping up from his basement to the display, about 16' away.

How much is it selling for? Because you could get a smaller pump say a dart or something for about $150 brand new.
