Hanna Test Instruments

I'm looking into a Hanna Combo pH/EC/TDS/Temperature tester. I understand all the other features, but what is the EC in this tester?

EC is short for electrical conductivity. In short, it served similar purpose as TDS; it's an indication of how pure water is. Think of a TDS meter as an EC meter with a calculation algorithm built in. TDS is calculated and EC is measured which by definition might be more accurate.
