Hanna ULR Phosphorous Test

Hi, All.

Am I doing this right? I just got a Hanna ULR Phosphorous Test Kit and it says my phosphorous is 200. When I convert that with their chart, that's 0.6ppm or over.

With that said, the last ICP test I checked my phosphates were at 0.3ppm and were on a downswing.

Could this test kit be that off? I just sent in another ICP test just in case and did a 30% water change as a precautionary measure, but I wanted to ask what you guys thought.

Let me know!

I think the Hannah error variation is .04

I would trust the Hannah test more than the others. Just make sure you mix for the full two minutes.

What is the no3?
How old is the tank?
What is your bioload?
How much/what do you feed?
Do you have a lot of algae growing?
What kind of skimmer do you have?
What’s the total tank water volume?
How much skimmate are you making?

If I kept getting results like that I would start doing a complete assessment of your nutrient intake and output. With levels that high it has to be coming from somewhere and not being removed quickly enough.
