Harlequin shrimp question

Is it okay to put one or two (pair) in a reef tank that is large?
Or should they go into a smaller tank?
Do they hide alot or are they very social creaters?

It will not be with any starfish. The only starfish it will be with is the ones it will be eating!

Anyone have some in there reef tanks?

In large aquariums, yes it is possible yet there are always the chance that one or the other males may attempt to move in on the others female.

I have one in my 50G -36x18

I put him in 8mths ago for asterina annihilation. Since then, I feed him a CCstar leg every 2 weeks or so, or as he is hungry.
I NEVER see him unless he is hungry. thats when he is out prowling.... very cool to watch.

Yes, they hide a lot...in a large tank, you'd probably rarely see him/her/it...

I have one in my 90. I actually see it quite often. Especailly when its hungry.

how long do you go between feedings? are you feeding a single shrimp the whole Star?

I feed one cc star every couple of weeks to one shrimp. +or- a couple days.

I also forgot to mention one of my friends is keeping a pair in a 240.

does he actually eat all of it before it decomposes? I worry about water quality....
