The other night my halides turned off and my atenic bulbs were still on. Firends came over 1 hour later who wanted to see the tank so I turned the halides back on. That's when I notices a floating red ball that looks like a sack filled with hundreds of small miny red balls. This floating red ball was no more then 1/2" in diameter. After looking at it for a couple of minutes the skin layer broke on the ball and hundreds of these little red things swam away and/or was pushed away by the current. Has anyone ever seen this? Is this something I should be concerned about? Can someone explain to me what's going on?

I've got a 150 gallon tank with some green star polyps, elephant ear, a copy of hard coral frags (4x), several types of richordia, pumping asyinias, green mushrooms, 1 green candy cane,1 clam, 1 long spinned sea urchin, 1 fire shrimp, 2 pepperment shrimp as well as a few other fish.

How do shrimp reproduce? If I had to guess I would say that the little things that were pushed away by the water current were alive in the sense that it was probably not a coral but rather an animal or critter of some sort. Hindsight being 20/20 i should of filmed this event.

My GSP looked like this when it spawned.

Is it possible that a spider sack could have fallen into the tank?

I know it sounds pretty stupid, but that is what came to mind immediately.
