Hey evereyone i was wondering if anyone has used "Rally" by ruby reef its suposed to be reef safe so u can treat sevral parasites in your tank without having to catch the fish swich it to a hospital tank etc... Im giving it a try right now i got a small out break of marine velvet and gil flukes. (oh well for hoping all this could be avoided by having aquacultured fish") im on day 2 of treatment and all my corals dont seem to mind. just want to know if any one else has had sucess or death from using this product. my LFS highly recomended it and they realy know there stuff. its suposed to treat a range of things from gill flukes marine velvet, external bacteria infections (fin rot etc..) safe for all fish including scaless fish copper free and will not affect bio filtration reef / invert safe. its not suposed to deal with ICK but they said at the LFS they HAVE seen where it does cure an Early stage ICK outbreak. but didnt recoment relying on it to work. (glad i dont have ick) its dosed 1 oz per 10 gallon each day for 3 days repeated if needed with a 48 hr break between each 3 day treatments .. cant run poly filter or carbon while treating nd no skimming for obvious reasons. also told me its a good medic bath for injured fish since it treats bacterial infections and parasites. anyone with more insight id love to hear it please.

well im 3 days into the treatment and al corals inverts and fish are still looking GREAT not one dead critter or even a unhappy one as of yet ill keep posted. My red sea pom pom xenia is pulsing like crazy still and is nice and bushy like its always been. my GSP are slightly ticked off but thats because ive reduced the photo period to actinic only and only 2 65w pc lamps instead of 4 and no MH .. figured it would help with any stress with the critters. the GSP are always mad if i mess with the lighting. they are open just opening slower

Ok treatment finished Back to skimming ran some carbon to help clear the water after the treatment. ALL IS well ick looks gone and no one is stressed or dead. all the LPS and zoas and softies are find. shrimp are good snails are snailing away and happy. for me this stuff worked.. and was reef safe (in my tank) my xenia never flinched.(pulsed but never flinched)

I personaly would use it again if needed. No bad things happend and all is good. Ive heard of problems when people OVERDOSE there system with it. just keep in mind your aquarium may not have as much water in it as you think.. or vice versa depending on sumps etc... sand and rock and live stock take up a lot of water space.

I actually talked to the guy who developed it, he's a John Hopkinsd DR and he said it can be double dosed without harm which turned out to not be true in my case, I didn't double dose either.
