has anyone ever experimented with spirulina powder in sps tanks as a food additive for fish and corals and if so any positive or negative reactions

it is a part of the Blu Coral method//////pappone feedings that were brought to our attention here on RC in the Italian thread stickied at the top of the SPS forumn

I feed the pappone, but leave the spirulina out. I have seen it used heavily in the "invertebrate formula" (frozen) by Ocean nutriton/formula foods?(cant remember which brand but the makers of formula I and II and all that)

I did used to include it with cyclopeeze when i fed my sun coral, but I am a long way off being able to tell you anything about it regarding SPS(i assume you are speaking Acroporids mainly)

yes I have been wondering about this and was curious to see if anyones used it since it so cheap (21 dollars for a dry pound ) and if there is any negative or bad influences on algae . I have been feeding it with oyster eggs well I keep u posted on any good or bad changes

I have dosed it a few times and noticed crazy polyp extension. I got mine from a health food store for a few bucks. May be worth it but have not noticed a change good/bad. HTH

intopora hoew long have u been adding this i have also noticed some great poly extension latly but have only been for a week and a half
