Ive noticed after the nitrite spike, i nitrite has gone to 4ppm but for the past week and a half, it seems like the nitrite isnt going down anymore and its awlays at 4ppm with around 30 nitrate.

On the 26th nitrite has been at 4ppm with nitrate at around 50 ppm

Today its nitrite around 3.5ppm and nitrate at 35 ppm

Forgot to say my ammonia has been 0 for a week even after adding some flake food

Currently its a fishless cycle

All cycles should be fishless :) good call.

How much flake have you been adding, and how often? Also,is your water RO/Di?

When did you start the cycle? Some things take time...about a month in this case.

Edit: mcgyvr with the quick fingers

Its been a total of almost 3 weeks, not using RO/Di just RO water and im adding a pinch if fish food every 2-3 days

I just went through the same thing.
Nitrites seemed stuck at one level for a couple of weeks, nitrates also steady during this time. Was checking levels every 3 days or so and then finally nitrites dropped and came to zero.
My whole cycle took two months.

Your cycle is proceeding just fine. Nitrites over 8ppm can slow down a cycle, but you are well below that level, so just give it some time. As posted above you should quit feeding the tank, the denitrifying bacteria will live over a year without more food, adding food will only increase the nitrates at the end of your cycle.
