Has my test kit gone bad?

About 2 months ago I lost 90% of my SPS and decided to cook my rock. I recently moved the rock and everything left from my 125 into a 180 that I had plumbed together with a 120 LPS tank. I hadn't checked anything but calcium and alk until today... I checked twice and both times got 100ppm NO3!!! Now everything looks great. I have full PE on my SPS and my LPS has never looked better. My clams and other livestock seem fine as well... So how could this be possible I ask?

This is intesting isnt it. I suspect that this high nitrate is just a temporary response and soon you will experience coral tissue loss. Its possible they were starved for nitrates, so now they are better.

What test kit?

Salifert.

This is the second time I've used it. The first time it seemed fine.

I usually use the Doc Wellfish NO3 kits. I like them better.
