Have a new FeatherDuster....Have a Question

I bought one feather Duster last week and it's doing great, But I just bought a new one and it was opened for the first two days , but now it's closed up and hasn't opened in a day and a half. Is this a problem? Is it normal for them to close up for that long a period? do they have to certain time they need to acclimate? How will I know if it's dead?

This can be a normal occurance; feather dusters will also lose their plumage or head from time to time as they grow.

If you touch the mud tube or give it a gentle pinch, you will feel the worm body tense. If it doesn't tense and feels like mush, then it's dead.
