Have you ever had a pair of percs that just never grow up?

I've been waiting to see if my bonded pair will change somehow. I have a pair that I got as babies from Rod. I think they are 3 years old now and are still similar in size, and not very large. Neither one has a third stripe.

I'm estimating they are maybe a little over 2". They dart from nem to nem and are always together. They clean the rocks. That's about as far as they've gotten and I'm curious why. What I thought would happen is one would get much bigger than the other. It's happened to two other pairs of percs I have (not onyx), and happened around 7 months.

Is it because they have multiple anemones? It's a dedicated (somewhat) 150 gallon cube and the only other fish in there is a foxface. No coral, only S. Gigantea.

My pair of Rod'd onyx is three years old. They're both a little over 2" big. Always together and clean the rocks nearby but I don't see any laying egg happening.

Thanks Nick. Do you think they will continue like this for long? I think it's kind of cute, but at the same time I would like to see them as big as their mom and dad were. I don't have all black, and no third stripe. Is that common or something I did?

Here is a time frame for mine.

This is my first and only pair of Onyx(or A.Percula for that matter). In a way, I'm glad that they don't lay egg because I wouldn't want to deal with it right now. I might try to raise a few down though.
One of the clown is fully onyx including its dorsal fin. The other is till working on connecting its black between the second and third stripes.
It doesn't really bother me because these clowns can live up to 15yrs or more, so a 3yr-old clown is still really young. Enjoy raising them and watch them develop.

Aquareefer: Very cute! Mine definitely is different in development compared to yours. Also, yours seem to show a size difference by 2 years. Mine are still about the same size. Also, my other percs (picasso) are much larger and younger.

This is me: Mine has black between second and the invisible third stripe. So, I think if they don't have a third stripe at this point, they never come in correct? I think it must have been due to my husbandry or something because I got them when they were less than 1".

Neither have black on the dorsal part, which is too bad but I still like them.

Thanks for the info, because I wasn't sure if they should have 1) grown larger by now and 2) start showing size difference.

I knew these guys were supposed to be slow to develop, but I thought it was 2-3 years as opposed 3+ years. Thanks!
