I don't know how popular this stuff is. But I have been using it for about 4 months or more, and this stuff works! I don't have pictures unfortunately.. but I wish I would have taken some before and afters. The growth of my zoos is crazy... new polyps and baby polyps are always being seen. Anyways... you guys should definitely try it out, I give it two thumbs way up. Not only for zoos, but my ricrodia and yuma have grown like weeds as well. For anyone interested... www.polyplab.com

No. But if you read up on the site it tells you about it... I personally don't believe in those products, nor have the need to use it .

i saw finsreef advertising that product.

IMO, i wont use any additive until i've seen visable and documented proof from numerous people.

all of my zoas grow fine without any additional supplements that polute the water.

any idea what these reef roids are made of?

Hah, see.. this is what makes this product so great. It doesn't pollute your tank like, let's say...... cyclopeeze. Try feeding all your corals with a heaping teaspoon of cyclopeeze, then turn your pumps on, wait a couple weeks and notice the mad algae growth. With roids, there's no algae.... whatever isn't consumed by corals is taken in through my skimmer.

Quote : www.polyplab.com

"Ingredients: Unlike many other "coral foods" on the market, Reef-roids is NOT made with processed fish meals or other ingredients that can rapidly degrade water quality. Reef-roids is a mixture of naturally occurring marine planktons including a specific species of zooplankton that is unique to our product. "

"The particle size of Reef-roids is around 150-200 microns. This is THE perfect size for Goniopora to feed on. When using Reefroids, you will notice excellent polyp extension on all filter feeding corals. Zoanthids, Mushrooms and Ricordia will demonstrate a distinct feeding response. And with continued use, your filter feeding corals will experience faster growth and better colors."

The stuff WORKS. My zoos did not grow nearly as fast as they have since I started using the roids. I am simply trying to spread the word.... I mean, what's better than super colorful, fast growing zoos and other filter feeding corals?

^

Sounds like I'm a promoter for the company or something hah..... not the case here folks.. just spreading the word.

can you show us your own pics of what the stuff looks like? and how "Zoanthids, Mushrooms and Ricordia will demonstrate a distinct feeding response"

i for one would be interested in seeing this.

Sounds good, I am at work at the moment. I am heading home in a couple hours.. I'll show you some before/after shots of a coupel zoo frags I have. I will feed my yuma and zoos the roids and also take pictures. Stay tuned!

well for one thing a heaping teaspoon of cylcopeeze will last me more than a week. I find it hard to believe that any freeze dried product can be as good as a frozen one.

WOW if thats true that corals get better in color and growth and more proves of it i think we/I should give it a shot why not then ill have more zoas to frag and sell so they can pay their special food ROFLMAO...

P.S: can wait for more info about this new product and your pics of course OCPD and well thx for share tooo.

Okay, the cyclopeeze thing was just for reference. You know what I'm getting at. Anyways... I'll have pictures and what not in a couple hours.

ive used a lot of coral foods and personally i like phytoplan and zoplan made by julien sprungs 2 little fishes .i have a ton of customers that used to use a lot of the frozen products that will tell you that this stuff works great.ive personally used it to help open up tubastreas that we could not get to react to anything including mysis and juice from the shrimp.my problems with the frozen or refrigerated foods is they seem to go fowl very quickly and easily and sometimes have already done so before you even purchase them at your lfs.

Okay, well.. the pictures were hard to take as the Yuma I have is in a corner, and the angle is really weird to take pictures. So, bare with me... the zoos don't show a "feeding reaction" perse, but more-so just close up on the reef-roids. A video would be better so you can actually see the zoos close up on it. Anyways, here's a few pics. (Note... there's a lot of pics.. all in order, some with flash, some not.. you get the idea!)

Here it is before feedings :
