my green torch is spitting up brown mucus it only been in the tank for about 3 days now. i read that usually its caused by too much light. mines at the bottom of the tank though and i have pcs. what on earth is going on and what can i do to fix it.

Is it opening and expanding ?

Doubt it's your lighting.

How's the flow ? Torch corals prefer moderate to low flow.

Realize it can also be a reaction to shipping or how it was handled before you got the coral. Give it the right parameters and it should be OK.

alright cool thanks agu. i think it is just shipping stress since theres no more mucus and there semi-open now. only 2 of the 5 polyps are semi-open the rest are looking good

Enjoy your torch. Remember they can put out pretty long stinger tentacles. Keep an eye on downstream corals for a while and make adjustments as necessary.

alright cool. i found a pretty good spot for it. bottom right corner of tank so its not next to anything yet. are there any other corals that wont get stung or bothered by a torch if there next to it? like would a stinging coral hurt another stinging coral? thanks
