Having trouble with Orange Spot Filefish

So I have this orange spot filefish I picked up a little while ago....

and now 6 months later the darn thing has developed a taste for elegance coral and acans even though he eats pellets like a beast.

He's in a breeder trap right now, but does anyone have any ideas about how to break him of it ? (also he doesn't touch SPS coral, if anyone was wondering)

Bet'cha this thread didn't go where you were expecting it ;)

The only way to break the habit is to remove it from the tank. Very rarely can we do anything to stop them from what they do

I'll take him off your hands if you want to keep acans and elegance coral! :-). I love coral but a healthy OSFF is well worth living without acans and elegance. SPS and chalices are fun too.

Lol, I figured I'll just have to live with it.

Eh, I'll just set up a nice little 15 gallon and buy him a lady friend. That should fix up everything nicely :)

I had to remove all my lps once I acquired my files. Not a problem with softies, leathers and shrooms. Never had any sps to begin with. More food is always going to help but it would seem unlikely you could eliminate the behavior as stated above.

Mine has not touched my frogspawn or hammer. thought I had him completely weaned off coral after several months. put in a small sacrificial digitata. he striped it bare in a couple hours. They do what they do :)

Oh, I should add I do have a hammer colony that doesn't get touched.

They are quite active. I'd go at least 30 gallons for a pair.
