Hawaii video

This past December I went on a 10-day trip to Hawaii. Here is a video I made of the underwater parts. I shot the above water shots with a Canon 5D mk II and the underwater shots with a Panasonic GF-1 with underwater housing. Because the GF-1 is not capable of 1080p resolution, the highest the video would go was 720p which is still not bad. Hope you like it :)

Pretty cool, I like the whale shark video.

I went parasailing on the big island about 6 years ago and there was a whale shark swimming around the bay we were in, so from 250 feet up I could see this huge fish swimming around, it was very cool. I couldnt see detail like you got, but it was neat to see. From the boat they said they thought the shark was about 20 feet long, but from the air it looked tiny ;)

Anyway, nice video. I'll be going over to Hawaii soon, I hope my trip goes as well as yours!

Thanks Recty! If you do head back to the Big Island and like to scuba, check out the manta rays at night. That's the one thing I sort of regret not doing. Kona is one of the few places in the world that you can do that.

Yeah, I scuba dove right off the hotel there that shines the lights in the water and attracts the plankton which then attracts the manta rays. I was close enough to touch them, it was crazy. So cool.

I also dove at night and harvested my own lobster and proceeded to cook them up for a midnight snack, that was awesome, it's as fresh as it gets :)

Really cool video. Thanks for sharing. Those looked like some massive clams at the Waikiki aquarium. How big were they?

Those clams are enormous. They look like 36"-48" in diameter. They have had them for decades and they are probably several hundred pounds.

Oh wow!!! That is even bigger than I thought they would be. I would love to be able to check those out someday. I wonder if there is anywhere in the Bay area that has Giant clams. Steinhart aquarium does not if I remember correctly.
