HDPE ice packs

I remember High Density Poly Ethelyne material is reef safe and won't leech any toxic substance even if submerged in saltwater.

I currently reside in Qatar (yeah yeah rich locals, 2022 world cup, oil, hot climate , middle east for those oblivious to other countries lol) where summer means 40-45°C (104-112°F) is normal. Quite a challenge to maintain 78-82°C to say the least.

Chillers are inaccessible, fans could help but what about Ice packs (HDPE)? Is it advisable to do so? Very easy to add/remove in sump, cheap, manageable etc.

Thoughts?
