Healthy Yellow Tang Died Overnight

So my beautiful Yellow Tang died -_- It was perfectly fine the night before, eating her fish food from my hand and swimming around in my 75 gallon tank. When my timer turned on in the morning, I didn't see my Tang. I figured "She must be sleeping still or hiding." So I started looking around my tank. To my horror I found her on the sandbed with the majority of her eaten. There was a hermit crab munching down on her! Could she have been killed by hermit crabs?! My inhabitants were two oscellaris clowns, a maroon clown, peppermint shrimp, lawnmower blenny, nassarius snails, and hermit crabs (obviously). I got rid of the tank yesterday because I'm going to focus on my 14 Gallon BioCube, but I'm still confused as to what happened to my poor Yellow Tang. She had no ich, no discoloration, interactive and eating well. Please give me your input!

Sometimes fish die for no apparent reason, maybe it had an internal infection of some sort. I had a flame angel that looked perfect and ate a healthy diet with vitamin enriched food and plenty of seaweed and I found him dead when I got home. No signs of ich or bacterial infections. It just happens.what were you feeding your tang?

I was feeding my Tang seaweed and he would sometimes eat some garlic marine flakes if she didn't want any seaweed.

And I really appreciate your reply. I didn't even think of an internal infection. Poor Tang. And that's unfortunate about your Flame Angel.

Its all good, that's why we are here. To help each other out. Sorry about your loss, look on the bright side, you can get a new fish or try a different type of fish.
