Heater + Apex ?

Shouldn't need to be apex ready, doesn't your heater just plug into a wall outlet? Configure an apex outlet to switch on and off at your required temps, without googling your heater, I'm not familiar with it, here is my outlet program for my heater

Set temp on heater slighting higher than apex and you are good to go.

I have the heater plugged into outlet "4" - as designated, and the heater itself up at 82d. Wont turn on?

It was working fine in my RODI salt mix bucket just an hour ago? The temp in the tank (beginning the cycle - is 68) - set Apex at 67 "on" and 78 "off" - no luck.

I am stumped!

Heater + Apex ?

Screen shot your program so we can see please , have you got the < > in your program? Or are u using the apex heater setup? You say your tank is at 68, but your apex will turn on your heater outlet at 67, try changing the 67 to 70 or something higher than what your tank is currently

I can't see my above post for some reason, it's there in web view though, wierd, your tank isn't below the point at which you set your apex for it to come on, set the lower temp point to 70ish and it will come on, your tank at 68 but your apex programmed to come on at 67

There is no such thing as an Apex ready/compatible heater..
Something else is off..

His tank temp was 68, but his heater turn on temp was 67, turn off temp was 78, so his tank was in between, post number 4, it doesn't work the way I think he thinks it does

"If" it works that way thats silly/poor programming and I'd bet it does NOT function as you think he thinks you think he thinks it does :)

The code you show is greater than/less than..
If Temp > 67 Then ON
As such If Temp = 68 then the ON condition is met as 68(Temp)>67

The temp in the tank (beginning the cycle - is 68)

Apex at 67 "on" and 78 "off".

So it had not dropped to 67 yet, therefore had not come on yet, once it drops to 67 then it would come on until the temp hit 78 and then turn off, that's a huge temp swing anyway

sorry.. gotcha.. I'll blame my wife on my lapse of comprehension for repeatedly saying "dinner is ready.. get off your dang computer already" :)

You guys are awesome - loved your replies. Called Neptune today: they 'remoted' in to my APEX dashboard, admin rebooted the actual energy bar. That did half the trick.

SCARFACE8 was correct (I was dense).

I had to go into settings and needed to visualize the second part of the issue by seeing the code in the advanced tab. I needed to change the "ON" setting which tells the APEX a command of "if less than (<)" TURN ON. So, I changed the setting to 77d ON, and 78d OFF.

The combination of rebooting the energy bar and then understanding that the 'LESS THAN' was the directive to take with the low setting. Earlier, my tank was running at 68d, but I set it less than that - which would have meant that the APEX was doing exactly what I told it to do and NOT turn on when I set it at 67.

Learning more every day!
