heater for inside tank

I have a 60 gallon cube with a 20 gallon sump and have 2 100 watt heaters in my sump but I would like to have a backup in the tank set a few degrees lower as a backup in case of return pump failure. So I bought a cobalt neo therm based on the review that bulk reef supply gave it saying that it was practically indestructible, they have never seen one fail in the on position, and the fact that it could be easily hidden next to my overflow box.

Then I stumbled across some pretty scary reviews saying that they can blow up and dump black gunk into the aquarium. So now I am looking for another option that would be aesthetically pleasing inside the tank.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
Personally, I don't want to look at a heater in my tank which is why I put them in the sump and keep the backup in the overflow.
Any heater can fail so I think it's all about what you like or can tolerate.
Personally, I use and like the Finnex heaters.

If the backup is in the overflow and the return stops how is that going to be any better than the one in the sump? I'm asking because I wanted to do the same thing.

is it possible to paint the finexx titanium heaters or maybe put heat shrink tubing over them? i would rather it blend into the black background and overflow
