heater size for a 75g?

how many watts would be good for a 75g tank, with no sump and wat is a good reliable brand??

General rule is 3-5 watts per gallon. What your total volume depends on how much rock and sand you are putting in. I.E. if you estimate your total volume at say 60 gallons, that means you should have 180 - 300 watts. Another good idea would be to use 2 smaller heaters instead of a single. That way if one fails, the other will get you by until you can replace. My recommendation would be something like 2 x 150 watt heaters. May also considering using a temp controller as a further failsafe.
