heater troubles

i am having trouble mantaing a steady temp in my 75 gallon. i have the heater in the refugem. the heat goes from 76 to 71 all the time what is a good suggestion for a heater that will maintain a steady temp?or shuld i change something i am doing.

What type and size of heater?

What do you have the heater's temp set at?

Also, it's good to run two heaters in case one should fail. You could keep one in the fuge and the other in another part of the sump, ensuring the water is more evenly heated.
