Heaters

4-5W per gallon in 150 gallon or less. 2-3W per gallon for anything larger. Larger volumes of water are easier to heat and require less Watts to heat them. Smaller tanks have higher fluctuation therefore requiring more heating Watts. That being said, There is always the chance of a heater going bad. Redundancy is the key to this hobby. How about 3 200W heaters? Set two of them at the temp you want the tank to stay around and set the third a few degrees cooler, incase one of the others fail.
