Hello,
I purchased a pair of Hector's Gobies from my LFS and have noticed that one is getting extremely big around the abdominal area (all the time not increasing and decreasing with food consumption). I was wondering if these were livebearing fish, and if so what should i do with the pregnant female, and fry when they are born. Any information appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

pretty sure they're egg layers. The abdominal swelling can be one of two things - 1. infection, 2. ripening of ova in a female.

Ods on they will lay a gelatinious mass of small eggs, and one fish of the pair will spend much time tending to its burrow/eggs.

Get them to hatch then play with some small rotifers and some algae in the culture tank.
