After using the skimmer I have now for years, (7+ years) Ive decided to get a new, more up to date/modern type of skimmer. The problem I have is that most skimmers for a 150 gal. tank are quite tall. 24"+. All I have from the bottom of my stand to the bottom of the tank is 25" and that leaves no room to remove the collection cup. 
Is there a skimmer that is shorter that I can use in the $250.00 range? If not, the only other option I think I have would be to use a hang on type of Skimmer.(Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer type.) I really dont want to have a 25"-30" skimmer hanging on the back of my tank...
but, I will If there is no other options...
