Hello! Fish-only tank decorations?

I'm fairly new to the hobby, I got a job at a saltwater fish store in August and hadn't really known much about any of it; all I knew was my best friend's family had a saltwater tank. I have learned so much though and I absolutely love it. One of the tanks I take care of is the ~fish only~ tank. There is a massive blenny (I can't remember which kind) a vlamingii tang, a foxface rabbitfish, and an indigo hamlet. All very friendly fish but their tank is just so drab looking. I know with fish only tanks you do not have very many options, but I want to make it look interesting since it is the first tank you see when you walk into the shop.
I know you can put ceramic pots into a tank, for breeding and hiding and such; we have those in our other systems and broodstock room. But I decided to put on into the fish-only tank and the blenny is in love with it, it's his own little house haha. My question is: I do ceramic work at the local art center and I was wondering if the only ceramic thing you can put in a fish tank were these flower pots. I would love to make some things for them but I want to know if it is safe? Readily accessible is white ceramic, but I do believe I can buy some terracotta clay. I would not glaze it, it would just be built and fired and soaked.

Sounds like a massive tank! For art structures I recommend some dry rock, epoxy/silicone, maybe some acrylic rods and do some serious aquascaping.

Erica, I too just started a FOWLR tank and thought it looked dull compared to my reef tank. I searched the web for an hour and found a site called seacorals.com

They sell dead skeletons and other dyed corals. I bought a red sea fan that stands about 16" tall just like this one:

Hopefully it will arrive in one piece next week. The prices seem reasonable and you could add some color that way. Good Luck.

High fire ceramic like stoneware will work I think but ceramics like you would make at at ceramic shop will fall apart.

I'm not a fan of fake coral or dyed coral and stuff like that, that's why I prefer live/dead rock because you can aquascape your tank so it looks like a actual reef.
