just wanted to drop in to say HEY....made it thru Basic w/ shing colors & am now at Ft Gordon in Augusta,GA for my AIT training

we started w/ 58 in my platoon at Basic, but only 34 of us made it thru :0

not sure where my 1st duty station will be yet.....we usually get that info around our 9th week & i just finished up week 5. most guys in my MOS have been getting korea & germany, with a few getting japan, hawaii or ft huachuca in az, so we'll see

anywhoo, since i now remember my login info (LOL) i'll check in occasionally :)

Its great to hear from you, James! I started some LED stuff a few weeks ago and I've been thinking about you. Mainly because I keep seeing your 1 year old head pop up in LED threads. ;)

Was just thinking about you the other day when I was looking at that tank of yours that I still haven't got it up and running YET...lol... Hope everything is going well with ya!!!!

thanks everybody ;)

AIT is ALOT of work....couple that w/ the fact that i was recently nominated for Soldier of the Cycle, which comes w/ "only 65 pages of information to memorize" LOL

not sure if i'm gonna have time to give it my full attention, but gonna give it a try....looks good for when i come up for my promotion in about 6-9 months

well this week i had a POR briefing (Preparation of Overseas Replacements) this week. all the people in my class (except national guard & reserve) were on the roster. everybody except mine said Korea, but mine said Europe :)

well, today, i got an email telling me the exact location.....Mannheim Germany

germany is a 2-year change of duty for single & 3-year for married....Korea is 12/24.

i'm glad it's gonna be in Germany instead of Korea.....more to do as far as travelwise for my time off & i actually prefer the longer duty station :D
