Hello,

just found this local forum so i thought i'de say hello. I am new to the hobby with a 29g SW tank. Seems there are a lot of local on here.

Welcome to the forum. I'm also just starting out. But feel free to ask any questions you have.

How long you had your tank up and running? What fish - corals you have in there? Talk with you later....

Welcome to the local section. It's always nice to get some new faces around here! I would also like to know about your tank. I've been in the hobby for about 6 years or so. I started in a 10gal that only had one Kenya Tree and some Yellow Polyps in it. Then I got to a 20gal high that became mostly LPS and Zoas, but had some soft and SPS corals and a clam. Now I'm in a 54gal corner bow and am still working on stocking for a fully mixed reef. I have a Bi-Color Pseudochromis and a Wartskin Angler.

Here's a pic of my old 20gal:

And my current 54gal:
(the 20k bulb makes a ton of glare with that camera. I'll try to get some better ones sometime)

Welcome,

Glad to see another local. May be time to start CERSES (Corning Elmira Reef and Saltwater Enthusiast Society).

Dave

Thanks for the comments! And yes dave, I would have to second the idea for a local reef club. It seems like more and more people keep popping up around here, and I know at least 5 people who never even use reef central, so i'm sure there are more out there.

itchy - im right off maple so were not too far away from eachother... how long have you had your tank set up? What do you keep fish only or reef?

dave - we talked about starting a club awhile ago. we should really get on that now there are ALOT of people popping up in the area

Welcome aboard! I think it was about 6 years ago that I first started with a 29 gallon tank. I remember well the excitement of waiting for the tank to cycle and purchasing the first fish and coral. Cool hobby, with good folks here to help guide you.
