Hi Guys

I am thinking of upgrading to a bigger tank. My current tank in the office room.

My office room is adjacent to our storage garage. With my new tank, I am thinking of having all my filtration, sumps, pumps etc kept in the storage garage. It would make cleaning much easier, and keep things in the office nice and quiet.

My question is, do you think there will be foam insulation on the wall between the office room and storage garage?

Next question, will I have to drill multiple holes for each pipe, or is it possible to pass them all through one larger opening? How do you seal this opening on both sides?

Pictures of what you guys have done would be great... I am thinking of a 180g...I will probably set it up with a closed loop and maybe 4 way ocean motions...and then drain would go o the sump, then to skimmer and return back to tank.

Appreciate any words of advice on this ....

G,
I did a similar set up this year in my basement. I didn't put any foam in my walls. I have all my equipment including ballast on the unfinished side. The I have small 4 holes in the wall for the drains and return lines. Then I have 2 bigger holes higher up for the wires from the lights. I used some furniture gromits to fill those in and they don't look too bad.

By putting the eqipment on the unfinshed side, I can use the washing machine drain for water changes. As for closed loop, didn't do that - monthly electric is too expensive. Going with Tunzes instead.
