i have a 92 all glass, currently im using a overflow box to get the water to the sump, i wanted to drill the side of my thank so that i dont have to use the overflow box, because of having to keep the overflow hose prime, and getting an occasional flood (cleaning it up isnt fun anymore), i was thinking if i drill the side wall i would be ok, but the problem is that i dont know if the side wall is also tempered, has anyone drilled this before? where should it drill it and also if i have the tank at the lfs to drill it, should i have them drill the return and use bulk head also, all opinions will be appreciated. thanks for the help guys

this link only shows that the bottom tempered, you should be able to drill the back. call and make sure.

the drilling is easy and to be sure that the glass is not tempered contact the manufacturer to find out what glass is tempered and which is not .
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRILL THE TEMPERED GLASS IN ANY WAY ,you will not like the results as it will basically explode ! on another note the sound of the explosion does sound pretty cool .
