HELP! Dying/bleaching bird's nest.

Woke up this morning to a weird looking DT. Upon further investigation I discovered that my skimmer went on overdrive and my ATO dumped about a gallon of kalk top off water in my system. My SG dropped from 1.026 to 1.022. Most of the softies looked disturbed but were( what it looked to me) going back to normal.
So I figured I should top of with salt water in the next day or two to get the salinity back to normal.
I just came back from work and noticed something terrifying : the bottom third oh my bird's nest is completely white.
I have no idea what to do about it......
Is the colony doomed or is it gonna bounce back to normal.
I'll try to post a picture of it shortly.....
Any of you guys have a clue what's going on or somebody with similar experience please chime in.
I should also say that nothing else besides the skimmer accident hsd been added or changed in the system.

That's the best I can to right now.
One more thing I have another bird's nest in my system that started as a frag from the bleached colony. It is in a different tank sharing a sump with my main DT and there is nothing wrong with it as far ss I can see

Having just a 14 gallon tank, and using a simplistic aqulifter pump with a household digital timer for dosing alk, I always keep my siphon tube near the top of the supply container so that if the timer gets stuck on (and it has for one reason or another), it can't dose the entire gallon container. Yes, this means I have to check it more often and move the tube down every few days, but I learned a lesson a few times.

I have a 6gal ATO container and this is the first accident I've had.

Seriatopora are susceptible to RTN; the base of your colony might be lost. The rest of it looks like it made it though.

I figured so much. This morning the base was the same but the top was showing PE under actinics as usual.
