Help finding rubber sheet to make gasket

Nate again, in need of help once more. I just finished a large diy skimmer - you can check out the thread here if you like. I need to make a gasket for the bottom of both risers, where they bolt into the black box.

I'm getting significant leaking there, and I have a guy who wants to hook it up to his aquarium on Sunday - again trying to avoid ordering something off of the internet. I checked out Lowe's, Home Depot, and several car parts stores to no avail. If anyone knows where I can get a sheet (9"x9") or larger of thin rubber for a gasket please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help and input.

i forget the brand(in a blue and white box),but i got a roll of rubber cork gasket for a local auto part store and made one out of it and it hasn't leaked yet.

Hm. I thought about using that stuff but for some reason I figured the cork might start falling apart. I suppose if you can use it on a cars oil system with so much heat and pressure, it would hold up against saltwater use.

I found some thin rubber/foam type stuff in the craft section of walmart. It would work great, but I don't know if it will absorb water. I'm going to cut the gaskets for it tonight with this materal and give it a water test till morning. If it works then great, if it doesn't then off to NAPA. Again.

Aquatic ecosystems has some gasket material, their in apopka and open on monday

Well, I need the stuff by tomorrow evening, and unfortunately I'll be gone from here by noon tomorrow. I appreciate the help anyway.

ACE hardware in Oviedo has some. You can also get it at Skycraft Surplus in Winter Park but they are closed on Sundays.

Goodyear Rubber Products in Tampa has sheet rubber. 1/16th" thick up to 1" thick. Good gasketing material. 800-for-hose

hey nate if you havent found any yet why not make you own i make silicone sheets here i think would work great just take some silicone squeeze a tube of it onto a tile or something and place anether tile overtop of it and push down to desired thickness and viola you have a indestructible silicone sheet that you can easily cut when cured.

That is such an awesome idea! I never thought of that before. I will try it out and let you know how it does. Thanks for the great idea.
