After setting up a project tank with my club yesterday we threw some old rock into a donor's tank water for me to take home and cycle for the next project. Being that it was so late when I got to it last night I had to use a flashlight to see what I was doing. While looking into the bin of rock and water, I found a few baby fish :inlove:. This morning they are still swimming around. They must be clownfish or anthias. I know chances of survival are slim to none, but nonetheless I would like to try to give them a fighting chance.

Here are my options:
1) I have a 1 gal desktop tank with airstone bubbler that I can put them in

2) I have a 20 long with a HOT magnum for filtration

3) I can put them in my fuge which is gravity fed low flow, no powerheads lots of chaeto

ANY comments, thoughts, or suggestions greatly appreciated

My 1st thought is that they might be mysids, not fish. Are you positive, you see eyes?

If it looks like this, it is definitely fish fry:

You might let this batch become fish food, and study up for next time.

If your fish are spawning it won't be the last time.

i would go the 1 gallon route.

If you dant have live rotifers/ baby brine/ calinoid copepods/ other live food sources on hand. you can try mixing whatever live foods you have with frozen rots.

it wil lwork for some fish, and not for others.

if possible drape black over the sides of your tank, and put a white piece of paper on the botom. white makes your larvae more visible from the top, and the black lets them see their food better,

all the best.
