Title says it all. I have this nice 20+ poly Micro frag I need to frag and I'm scared to slice and dice it. Looking for someone who wants to help/show me how to properly frag it. You'll go home with a nice FREE frag for your time. You can see from the pic below it is over growing the frag plug it came on. Help a brother out! :D

Let it grow
It's still A baby!
Wait till the frag plug is so overgrown you can't see it then
chop it up!
The first one is the hardest, after you loose your cheery it's on!

You can see from the pic it's completely covered the plug and is starting to attach to the eggcrate already.

Here is my advice...

Take that frag plug and put it into your main display, tightly between two pieces of live rock. Then give it several months and it will spread to both of these pieces. Once you have the new growth firmly attached to those two peices carefully remove the plug using a scaple to seperate it from new growth on the two peices of live rock.

Then you can either move the plug to another location between two other peices of live rock or use the plug to trade for something else.

I have tried cutting a simular coral about 2 months ago. Mine was about 6" across and I simply split the live rock it was on into two peices using a band saw. After about 2 weeks the coral stopped opening. It still looks alive so I'm crossing my fingers that it will eventually spring back to normal.

dremel w/ a diamond disc - only removes about 1-2mm. I used this method to frag individual polyps of Acan.

You can get the diamond discs dirt cheap at harbor freight.

I think there's a fragging demo somewhere on RC from reefkeeping magazine on fragging Acanthastrea - this might help you if you haven't done it before.

I have a dremel, and fragged my acans many, many times. When do you have time to meet? PM me if you want me to help.
