Help...Gluing PVC to acrylic

I'm trying to glue PVC to acrylic and having a bit of hard time with the PVC blue glue that you get from Home Depot.

The joint will take some stress so the glue must be as strong as the the materials.

The blue you're talking about is very fast curing so the solvents don't stick around long enough to soften the materials as much as they could. Try the regular PVC glue, or the PVC/ABS/CPVC glue also sold there, or Weldon #16.
