They shouldn't but I would monitor them in terms of their growth. If they appear to growing on the ricordea, then I would consider removing them. Otherwise, they are a great asset to have.
I have found alot of the ricordea that are coming in with multiple polyps on small pieces of rock to have these lately. I have about 4 pieces that have the smae type sponge growth on the rock, so far no issues with it.....
