Help Help, my Hammer Head is DYING !

I've had this Hammer Head SPS for about 5 years. It has grown considerably, especially in the past year. A couple of weeks ago it started suffering, and in the process I've lost 4-5 heads and the death continuous!!! I took it out and dipped it in coral disinfectant from Kent a couple of days ago, it seemed to hold the damage but today I see it continues and I suspect if it continues I'll loose it in a couple of weeks.

This is a pic of the coral:

You might get more help if you posted in the LPS fourm. When you do please include tank specs, flow, temp, test results, lighting, last bulb change, ect. any detail you have on your tank may be usefull.

Thats an LPS... but did it get hit and did the skin get cut by anything on those heads

Try breaking any of the parts off that show disease and maybe that will help.

Nothing hit it, or cut it. It looks more like some kind of infection that is spreading from one head to the next. I can break the two remaining heads off, and see if that maintains it.

whats your salinity? if u r using a hydrometer make sure its not giving bad readings. ive had the same thing when i was using an old hydrometer. it read 1.024, but when someone tested my water with a refractometer it was at 1.034. a few candy canes and hammers brown jellied anddied.
