Help ID mysterious red coral?

I took this picture for a member of the local reef club here. This red thing just randomly grew up out of his rock and no one seems to know what it could be.
I was hoping someone here would be able to help ID it for him.

he's also wondering if anyone can give him names of these zoos- they're pink with white speckles across them.

To Reef Central!

The top looks like macro algea, I don't know the name of zoas in the middle, the bottom is maybe green star polyps, hard to tell from the pic.

Hey guys thanks for the responses. I'd say the red one is pretty definitely a coral, not algae. At least the consistency/translucency of the flesh and the bright phosphorescent tips look more like a coral to me than algae, but I'm brand new to the hobby. Everyone in the local club thinks its a coral too, no one seems to have an idea what it could be though.

the zoos and the blue thing... (possible hydnaphora) were just sorta "oh while you're at it, take pictures of these and see if you can find out" so thanks for looking.

It does look like that indeed. Thanks!
I'll point them to that link, cause there's no way they'll believe me if i just tell them.
