Love The Fish
My borbonius Anthias has some semi transparent spots on his fins. I let it go for a while but now its starting to worry me a little. The fish is now missing a chunk out of one of its fins and is missing the very top of his tail. He is eating like the normal pig he is and there has been zero scratching or head shaking of any kind. Im very familiar with Ich and this doesn't seem to resemble ich in any way. He does seem to be very interested in my shrimps cleaning him though and will lay next to them begging for a little attention. Can anybody help me ID this for proper treatment. I'll add that this fish has been through QT along with all my other fish. No tank mates show any signs of this either. Thanks for your help, let me know if I can supply any more info.

Its hard to see so I dont know if these pics will help at all but heres a couple anyways. You can see it a little on the bottom fins. I know its hard to see in pics, I did my best.

Brett, I'm certainly no expert, but from what I can make out in your pics, that looks like lymphocystis virus on his ventral fins.

+1 It's a virus that should go away on it's own. Maintaining excellent water quality and feeding vitamin enriched foods will help his immune system beat it. Cleaner shrimp will sometimes eat it off the fish, ripping the fin in the process :bounce1:
