Help identify coral?

Hi,
I found this coral in my Nano tanks a few months ago. It was about the size of a dime, now its grown in leaps, but not sure if is a coral. Its thriving well and actually appealing. Any idea what it may be? Its has purple spots and such.

Its tough to say from the photo, I've grown and fragged cabbage leathers for years and it has more resemblance to an algae or sponge than cabbage IMO. Do you ever see it expand or contract, does it extend any polyps at all?

I am not sure if it is a cabbage leather. The shot on live aquaria, the lobes seem much thicker. The species that is in my tank are rather thin almost like lettuce, and to answer your question Ryan it does not expand or contract or extend polyps.

Does it sway with the current quite easily, or does it remain pretty steady? How does it feel to the touch? Kind of slimy, or somewhat abrasive? It very well could be some type of macro algae. Weird!

yes, it does sway rather easily with the current and the leaves are very slimy.
It seems to resemble iceberg lettuce, ex. frilly leaves and thin. An algae?
its growing rather fast! but it does not seem to conflict with the corals around it.
