Help identify Green Tree fungus/rot

Can someone tell me what is going on with this Nepthea? As of late it seems to only get good P.E. @ night and think this may be the reason whatever it is. Should I be concerned and can I do anything if so?

it is possible that it is not a nephtea. could be a carnation. can you take a close up picture when the coral is closed?
