well today i just notice some sort of slug or nudibranch that just appeared in the tank today. he is white with frills along his side and 2 stalks on the top of his head with bristles or frills coming out of them. the tank has been setup for almost 4 months and this is the first time ive seen him. i have some star polyps and yellow polyps and some other polyps which i dont know what kind they are. he doesnt seem to be bothering anybody just would like to know what he is

so should i get rid of him? i had a colt coral in my tank not too long ago and branches of it started falling off until the whole thing came detached. the polyps were out but i couldnt figure out what was goin on. come to think of it he showed up not too long after the colt died.. you think he could have been the cause?

If thats what he feeds on it sounds like a very probable cause for the colts death- most leathers I've kept grow like weeds. I wouldn't mind using him to mow down some kenya tree i have if he'd eat it.

If it were me - i like inverts like that - i'd feed him leathers so i could keep him cause i'm weird :)

well i want to have leathers in the future and the little guys are really attracitive but they just had to go. so after this post i spent about an hour moving every rock looking for them and removing them. i ended up finding 5 of them along with about 10 spiral shaped egg deposits on the back glass and rocks so i siphoned out all the eggs i could and scrubbed the rock with a toothbrush and fresh water... hopefully i got rid of them.

and in the future i will be using an iodine dip for all incoming corals to my tank!
